Narrative:
Aircraft X checked on the frequency on a 70 degree heading looking for direct. I climbed him to FL230 and later told him to expedite his climb and expect direct out of FL220. When dkk released FL270 I gave the aircraft FL270 and direct homie leaving FL220. I then saw the aircraft turn right out of FL200 joining V627. I called dkk sector to verify the clearance.
