Narrative:

Taking off from an unfamiliar airport (victorville, ca) at night. Both runways 3 and 35 share a common departure point. I was cleared by the tower to depart on runway 3, I departed on runway 35. My checklist in the future will include a heading indicator check before power application.

Narrative: TAKING OFF FROM AN UNFAMILIAR ARPT (VICTORVILLE, CA) AT NIGHT. BOTH RWYS 3 AND 35 SHARE A COMMON DEP POINT. I WAS CLRED BY THE TWR TO DEPART ON RWY 3, I DEPARTED ON RWY 35. MY CHKLIST IN THE FUTURE WILL INCLUDE A HDG INDICATOR CHK BEFORE PWR APPLICATION.
