Narrative:

I was flying an small aircraft, a plane that is new to me, and I was at an unfamiliar airport. The controller had me do an intersection takeoff. Because I was at an intersection without the numbers, I took off on runway 18 rather than runway 36. The controller didn't advise me until I was off the ground. There was no other traffic in the pattern. It was lack of thought on my part caused by having diverted due to bad WX and being inexperienced in the type Y.
