Narrative:

Departed mky prior to obtaining release from ft meyers approach control. Small aircraft landed without voice calls. We were concerned with that aircraft plus other aircraft in the area and birds. We forgot to call ft meyers departure prior to takeoff from mky. Supplemental information from acn 608011: our concern about small aircraft, birds, and seldom do we fly into uncontrolled airports caused us to forget to get a release.
