Narrative:

Upon final approach to ZZZ, the gear was selected down and the l-hand side did not indicate down. We went missed approach, troubleshot the gear, and did the emergency extension procedure, but still did not show the l-hand gear down. We declared an emergency, briefed our passenger, and flew the ILS to runway 6L. The landing was uneventful, but we elected to have the aircraft towed to the hangar. We had taken off ZZZ1, approximately 2 hours previous and the runway there was very soft, probably causing mud and slush to give us the erroneous indication. Supplemental information from acn 605678: the emergency gear extension procedures for the lear 35A model were performed to no avail. The left main gear light still did not illuminate. Said gear lights were tested in the test mode to verify that said bulb was not burnt out.
