Narrative:

Landing gear extended on downwind. [We] did not receive a down and locked indication on left main gear. Attempted to extend gear and ran emergency checklist. On fly-by; tower believed gear was down. Emergency gear down lever then selected. Proceeded to enter downwind and landed normally. Upon landing gear down light illuminated and we taxied off the runway. Light then flickered several times so aircraft was shutdown on ramp and towed to parking.

Title: A PA28's left landing gear did not indicate down and locked so the Instructor ran the emergency checklist; had the Tower verify gear down and landed normally. Because the light flickered after landing the aircraft was towed to the ramp.
