Narrative:

After landing runway 27R atl ground advised us to clear behind company. Being that I was already in the turn to M12, they revised by saying to taxi east on taxiway M to join taxiway left. As I watched for company passing, I kept rolling in an attempt to get behind him only to notice an MD80 (or 90) rolling in front of us following our company. Being that (what appeared) he did not have an intention on stopping, I got on the brakes and stopped my aircraft. The MD80 passed in front of me with about 15 ft of clearance. Had I not seen him aggressively taxiing, and stopping, we would have hit. Ground didn't mention it to him (the fact that he did not stop) and just told me to follow him.
