Narrative:

We were cleared direct to bunts intersection on the bunts 1 arrival to phl. Center cleared us to 17000 ft then to 12000 ft soon after. We did the in-range checklist just prior to FL180 to be prepared for a 17000 ft leveloff. We never had to level at 17000 ft and continued to 12000 ft with the in-range checklist completed. When we leveled at 12000 ft center asked our altitude. We responded 12000 ft. Center said he showed us at 11500 ft. We asked for an altimeter. Ours was set incorrectly. I disconnected the autoplt and aggressively climbed to 12000 ft while resetting my altimeter. No further comment from center.
