Narrative:

Upon arriving at the airport, I checked the WX and NOTAMS for my planned flight. I departed the airport at approximately XA00. I flew to several airports during the flight and was practicing a VFR GPS approach into one of the local airports. Upon arriving over the airport I heard over the unicom frequency that there was a tfr in effect that encompassed this airport. I was repositioning to land when I observed a military aircraft off to my left. I proceeded to land at the airport and called approach control upon landing. There was a tfr that had been in effect for approximately 20 mins. The tfr encompassed a 30 NM radius of the large airport. The airport I had landed at was approximately 26 mi from the larger airport. The briefing I obtained was by a computer terminal that utilizes a commercial service. I selected the appropriate airports and asked for surface observations, forecasts and NOTAMS. The tfr was not provided. I am unsure on this particular system if you have to ask for tfr's specifically or not. I am still researching. It is recommended that you call FSS's to obtain briefing information if you are not intimately familiar with commercial services that provide this information. It is also recommended that the tfr's that are issued on a true 'temporary basis' be issued as soon as possible in hopes that it will generate awareness. This particular tfr was issued approximately 24 hours prior to becoming effective.

Title: A C182 SINGLE PLT VIOLATED A TFR AT 4I7, IN.

Narrative: UPON ARRIVING AT THE ARPT, I CHKED THE WX AND NOTAMS FOR MY PLANNED FLT. I DEPARTED THE ARPT AT APPROX XA00. I FLEW TO SEVERAL ARPTS DURING THE FLT AND WAS PRACTICING A VFR GPS APCH INTO ONE OF THE LCL ARPTS. UPON ARRIVING OVER THE ARPT I HEARD OVER THE UNICOM FREQ THAT THERE WAS A TFR IN EFFECT THAT ENCOMPASSED THIS ARPT. I WAS REPOSITIONING TO LAND WHEN I OBSERVED A MIL ACFT OFF TO MY L. I PROCEEDED TO LAND AT THE ARPT AND CALLED APCH CTL UPON LNDG. THERE WAS A TFR THAT HAD BEEN IN EFFECT FOR APPROX 20 MINS. THE TFR ENCOMPASSED A 30 NM RADIUS OF THE LARGE ARPT. THE ARPT I HAD LANDED AT WAS APPROX 26 MI FROM THE LARGER ARPT. THE BRIEFING I OBTAINED WAS BY A COMPUTER TERMINAL THAT UTILIZES A COMMERCIAL SVC. I SELECTED THE APPROPRIATE ARPTS AND ASKED FOR SURFACE OBSERVATIONS, FORECASTS AND NOTAMS. THE TFR WAS NOT PROVIDED. I AM UNSURE ON THIS PARTICULAR SYS IF YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR TFR'S SPECIFICALLY OR NOT. I AM STILL RESEARCHING. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU CALL FSS'S TO OBTAIN BRIEFING INFO IF YOU ARE NOT INTIMATELY FAMILIAR WITH COMMERCIAL SVCS THAT PROVIDE THIS INFO. IT IS ALSO RECOMMENDED THAT THE TFR'S THAT ARE ISSUED ON A TRUE 'TEMPORARY BASIS' BE ISSUED ASAP IN HOPES THAT IT WILL GENERATE AWARENESS. THIS PARTICULAR TFR WAS ISSUED APPROX 24 HRS PRIOR TO BECOMING EFFECTIVE.
