Narrative:

During taxi out, first officer PF, captain asked for the takeoff briefing. After the briefing, there was a distraction and we missed the first half of the 'before takeoff checklist', and therefore missed setting the flaps. Taking position on the runway, the ATC tower issued a 'cleared for an immediate takeoff' for traffic landing on a crossing runway. On the initial advancing the thrust levers the takeoff confign aural warning and EICAS message activated immediately. The first officer reduced thrust to idle and told tower 'air carrier XXXX we're going to stop it here,' which was not acknowledged. We delayed the takeoff until the flaps were at 5 degrees, first officer then transmitted 'air carrier XXXX is rolling,' while advancing the thrust the tower acknowledged saying, 'no delay.' we continued with a normal takeoff, however the traffic on the crossing runway was issued a go around by the tower.
