Narrative:
After landing to the east on the right runway we were given instructions to taxi via taxiway east to the FBO. I seldom get to phl, but we had just been 2 days before the incident. So I asked my first officer, after receiving taxi clearance, if it was the same path we'd taken before. I thought he referenced the chart and said, 'yes.' the previous day's taxi clearance had been via taxiway D however. So, I began my taxi after missing the turn at taxiway east and as I began to cross the north runway hold short line, I saw the taxiway sign denoting taxiway east pass off my left. I immediately stopped the aircraft on the hold short line and queried ground. They said there was no problem and that this had happened frequently, and made a comment on air about confusing signage. They cleared me to cross the threshold and taxi via taxiway D. No further comments were made. One previous trip to a large and complex airport does not make you 'familiar.'

Title: GA FLT CREW HAS RWY INCURSION AT PHL.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG TO THE E ON THE R RWY WE WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI VIA TXWY E TO THE FBO. I SELDOM GET TO PHL, BUT WE HAD JUST BEEN 2 DAYS BEFORE THE INCIDENT. SO I ASKED MY FO, AFTER RECEIVING TAXI CLRNC, IF IT WAS THE SAME PATH WE'D TAKEN BEFORE. I THOUGHT HE REFERENCED THE CHART AND SAID, 'YES.' THE PREVIOUS DAY'S TAXI CLRNC HAD BEEN VIA TXWY D HOWEVER. SO, I BEGAN MY TAXI AFTER MISSING THE TURN AT TXWY E AND AS I BEGAN TO CROSS THE N RWY HOLD SHORT LINE, I SAW THE TXWY SIGN DENOTING TXWY E PASS OFF MY L. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ACFT ON THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND QUERIED GND. THEY SAID THERE WAS NO PROB AND THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED FREQUENTLY, AND MADE A COMMENT ON AIR ABOUT CONFUSING SIGNAGE. THEY CLRED ME TO CROSS THE THRESHOLD AND TAXI VIA TXWY D. NO FURTHER COMMENTS WERE MADE. ONE PREVIOUS TRIP TO A LARGE AND COMPLEX ARPT DOES NOT MAKE YOU 'FAMILIAR.'
