Narrative:

We were proceeding direct to ukw at FL330. We were given direct to XXX. We were unable to understand the position. We queried the controller, but were again unable to understand where the direct was to. Upon the second request, we were told to head 050 degrees to intercept the ukw arrival. We were intercepting the arrival off of tcc when the controller asked where we were going, and why we weren't on the ukw radial. We stated we were at 163 DME and the ukw radial did not extend that far on the arrival. We were then given direct to ganja.
