Narrative:
I am a line mechanic and was pushing back a B757 from the gate for departure. During towbar release from aircraft I got entangled with aircraft communications cord. Aircraft was waved off. Crew called and stated nose gear steering would not steer. A mechanic went out to aircraft and found nose gear steering bypass pin still installed and removed before flight streamer wrapped around nose gear. Cause: I got distraction when entangled in cord and forgot to remove bypass pin.
