Narrative:

After landing on runway 19R, I was cleared to taxi to the other side of the field to GA parking. In doing so, I was aware of an airliner that had just landed and exited off the parallel runway. I then heard the airliner cleared to the gate. Having frequented this airport, I was aware that our paths would eventually cross -- even though we were a large distance apart. I received further clearance from ground to (what I understood was) 'skylane XXXX get with it for the air carrier X.' I acknowledged with my number and picked up my taxi pace. I could see the airliner and was aware of its location and speed. As we got closer to each other I received the exact same clearance from ground control to 'get with it' as I heard it. The airliner slowed well short of our intersecting txwys, so I continued on as previously instructed by ground to taxi to parking. After which I was instructed by ground to 'give way to the airliner, but since I was already past it, to continue to parking.' I promptly apologized to ground and the airliner and informed them of what I understood the instructions to be. The first 2 clrncs sounded pretty clear as to 'get with it.' the third clearance was also pretty clear to 'give way to it.' whether it was my ears or the controller's voice that made me mistake what he said, I do not know. I have talked to my instructor about this situation and he went over ground operations and right of way rules with me.

Title: C182 PLT DOES NOT UNDERSTAND ICT GND CTL CLRNC AND CROSSES IN FRONT OF AN ACR EXITING THE RWY ON AN INTERSECTING TXWY.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 19R, I WAS CLRED TO TAXI TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FIELD TO GA PARKING. IN DOING SO, I WAS AWARE OF AN AIRLINER THAT HAD JUST LANDED AND EXITED OFF THE PARALLEL RWY. I THEN HEARD THE AIRLINER CLRED TO THE GATE. HAVING FREQUENTED THIS ARPT, I WAS AWARE THAT OUR PATHS WOULD EVENTUALLY CROSS -- EVEN THOUGH WE WERE A LARGE DISTANCE APART. I RECEIVED FURTHER CLRNC FROM GND TO (WHAT I UNDERSTOOD WAS) 'SKYLANE XXXX GET WITH IT FOR THE ACR X.' I ACKNOWLEDGED WITH MY NUMBER AND PICKED UP MY TAXI PACE. I COULD SEE THE AIRLINER AND WAS AWARE OF ITS LOCATION AND SPD. AS WE GOT CLOSER TO EACH OTHER I RECEIVED THE EXACT SAME CLRNC FROM GND CTL TO 'GET WITH IT' AS I HEARD IT. THE AIRLINER SLOWED WELL SHORT OF OUR INTERSECTING TXWYS, SO I CONTINUED ON AS PREVIOUSLY INSTRUCTED BY GND TO TAXI TO PARKING. AFTER WHICH I WAS INSTRUCTED BY GND TO 'GIVE WAY TO THE AIRLINER, BUT SINCE I WAS ALREADY PAST IT, TO CONTINUE TO PARKING.' I PROMPTLY APOLOGIZED TO GND AND THE AIRLINER AND INFORMED THEM OF WHAT I UNDERSTOOD THE INSTRUCTIONS TO BE. THE FIRST 2 CLRNCS SOUNDED PRETTY CLR AS TO 'GET WITH IT.' THE THIRD CLRNC WAS ALSO PRETTY CLR TO 'GIVE WAY TO IT.' WHETHER IT WAS MY EARS OR THE CTLR'S VOICE THAT MADE ME MISTAKE WHAT HE SAID, I DO NOT KNOW. I HAVE TALKED TO MY INSTRUCTOR ABOUT THIS SIT AND HE WENT OVER GND OPS AND RIGHT OF WAY RULES WITH ME.
