Narrative:

Were flying VFR from bow in a PA30B, first flight in new aircraft. Knew the disney tfr existed so flew the 027 degree radial from lal VOR to keep from penetrating disney tfr, but were advised by ATC later that we had in fact penetrated it. Could not climb above 2500 ft due to low ceilings. Pilot normally flies IFR, but because this was a new aircraft purchase and unfamiliar equipment decision was later to fly VFR. Based on flight visibility, we also thought we were clear of the 3 NM restr area, but obviously not.
