Narrative:

Gear indicated down at the beginning of the approach. When 2 mi out, left gear down light went off. Climbed to 2000 ft MSL to check out problem. Recycled gear with no change in the indicator. Followed alternate gear lowering procedure with no change in the lights. Made 2 low passes to see if gear was down. On first pass, we were told that there were 2 gear extended. On the next pass, all 3 were seen. An uneventful landing followed.

Title: A SINGLE PLT HAS BAD GEAR LIGHT, WHICH LED HIM TO ACT AS IF THE GEAR WAS NOT DOWN.

Narrative: GEAR INDICATED DOWN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE APCH. WHEN 2 MI OUT, L GEAR DOWN LIGHT WENT OFF. CLBED TO 2000 FT MSL TO CHK OUT PROB. RECYCLED GEAR WITH NO CHANGE IN THE INDICATOR. FOLLOWED ALTERNATE GEAR LOWERING PROC WITH NO CHANGE IN THE LIGHTS. MADE 2 LOW PASSES TO SEE IF GEAR WAS DOWN. ON FIRST PASS, WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WERE 2 GEAR EXTENDED. ON THE NEXT PASS, ALL 3 WERE SEEN. AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG FOLLOWED.
