Narrative:

Early morning taxi to runway 31 at bna. Taxi instructions were to taxi via txwys T1, B, left, to runway 31. Captain was taxiing while I was performing the pretkof and taxi checks diverting my attention. When turning onto taxiway left, we made a right turn instead of a left turn onto taxiway left. The captain had been to bna many times before and had always used runway 13, thus confusing him into habitually making a right turn on taxiway left. We subsequently taxied across runway 2L. I first realized our mistake when the captain called 'clear left.' I then looked up from my pretkof checklist and called 'clear' right, confirming the runway was clear. After we crossed, I realized what we had done, as did the captain. We asked ground control for a 180 degree turn back to runway 31, which was granted. The runway 2L was not in use for departures at the time for turbojets, but was listed on the ATIS. The cause of this incident was the captain's wrong turn and my not catching it as my attention was diverted. We have both learned a valuable lesson. In the future, I will follow our taxi more closely and not let my attention get diverted. I am relieved that we confirmed the runway was clear of traffic before crossing.

Title: CL65 CAPT TURNS THE OPPOSITE WAY DURING TAXI OUT TO THE OPPOSITE END OF THE RWY TO WHICH CLRED.

Narrative: EARLY MORNING TAXI TO RWY 31 AT BNA. TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WERE TO TAXI VIA TXWYS T1, B, L, TO RWY 31. CAPT WAS TAXIING WHILE I WAS PERFORMING THE PRETKOF AND TAXI CHKS DIVERTING MY ATTN. WHEN TURNING ONTO TXWY L, WE MADE A R TURN INSTEAD OF A L TURN ONTO TXWY L. THE CAPT HAD BEEN TO BNA MANY TIMES BEFORE AND HAD ALWAYS USED RWY 13, THUS CONFUSING HIM INTO HABITUALLY MAKING A R TURN ON TXWY L. WE SUBSEQUENTLY TAXIED ACROSS RWY 2L. I FIRST REALIZED OUR MISTAKE WHEN THE CAPT CALLED 'CLR L.' I THEN LOOKED UP FROM MY PRETKOF CHKLIST AND CALLED 'CLR' R, CONFIRMING THE RWY WAS CLR. AFTER WE CROSSED, I REALIZED WHAT WE HAD DONE, AS DID THE CAPT. WE ASKED GND CTL FOR A 180 DEG TURN BACK TO RWY 31, WHICH WAS GRANTED. THE RWY 2L WAS NOT IN USE FOR DEPS AT THE TIME FOR TURBOJETS, BUT WAS LISTED ON THE ATIS. THE CAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT WAS THE CAPT'S WRONG TURN AND MY NOT CATCHING IT AS MY ATTN WAS DIVERTED. WE HAVE BOTH LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON. IN THE FUTURE, I WILL FOLLOW OUR TAXI MORE CLOSELY AND NOT LET MY ATTN GET DIVERTED. I AM RELIEVED THAT WE CONFIRMED THE RWY WAS CLR OF TFC BEFORE XING.
