Narrative:

Lgb tower cleared us to take off runway 30. We acknowledged and proceeded to roll. Shortly after calling 80N KTS throttle hold, I checked the instruments and looked up to see a helicopter moving right to left at an altitude of 50-100 ft right about the point of the runway where we would lift off. He continued across the runway and cleared it. We were at about 100 KTS. Rotation was at 149. We continued the takeoff roll and lifted off normally. I contacted the tower and said that should be reported. As I did, I heard the tower telling the helicopter he had instructed them to stay east of runway 30. Supplemental information from acn 554369: we rotated on speed and lifted off passing I would estimate 400-600 ft behind the helicopter as it continued to our left. Tower contacted the helicopter as we were climbing out and informed it that he had instructed them to remain east of runway 30.

Title: A B757 CREW, ON TKOF ROLL AT LGB, OBSERVED A HELI CROSS THE RWY CTRLINE AT APPROX ROTATION POINT AND 75 FT AGL.

Narrative: LGB TWR CLRED US TO TAKE OFF RWY 30. WE ACKNOWLEDGED AND PROCEEDED TO ROLL. SHORTLY AFTER CALLING 80N KTS THROTTLE HOLD, I CHKED THE INSTS AND LOOKED UP TO SEE A HELI MOVING R TO L AT AN ALT OF 50-100 FT RIGHT ABOUT THE POINT OF THE RWY WHERE WE WOULD LIFT OFF. HE CONTINUED ACROSS THE RWY AND CLRED IT. WE WERE AT ABOUT 100 KTS. ROTATION WAS AT 149. WE CONTINUED THE TKOF ROLL AND LIFTED OFF NORMALLY. I CONTACTED THE TWR AND SAID THAT SHOULD BE RPTED. AS I DID, I HEARD THE TWR TELLING THE HELI HE HAD INSTRUCTED THEM TO STAY E OF RWY 30. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 554369: WE ROTATED ON SPD AND LIFTED OFF PASSING I WOULD ESTIMATE 400-600 FT BEHIND THE HELI AS IT CONTINUED TO OUR L. TWR CONTACTED THE HELI AS WE WERE CLBING OUT AND INFORMED IT THAT HE HAD INSTRUCTED THEM TO REMAIN E OF RWY 30.
