Narrative:

Location: st thomas airport, 1 mi off departure end of runway we were #1 for takeoff on runway 10 at st thomas and were given traffic information as twin otter at 1 O'clock position over the bay. 'Runway 10, cleared for takeoff except change heading to 120 degrees.' sequence of events were positive rate gear up. And at 400 ft heading select 120 degrees. At 600 ft we received a TA. We looked out to see the otter at approximately 600 ft directly in our flight path as we passed over him at 1700 ft. In the event we had lost an engine on takeoff, we would have run right into each other.
