Narrative:

I was instructed by ground control to taxi to runway 14 at taxiway F3. For the last 9+ yrs that I have been at ilg, to get to runway 14 from my hangar, it was left on taxiway G, right on taxiway J, to the intersection of runway 9/27 and runway 14/32, a departure that I have made many times. During the last several months, there has been a lot of construction in that area, which is now complete. As I was taxiing west on taxiway G, the ground controller told me to hold short of taxiway J to allow a G4 to taxi to runway 9. As the jet went by, I did my run-up and switched to the tower. The tower told me I was cleared for a runway 14 departure at taxiway F3. Due to all the construction and new blacktopped taxiway F, I thought I was on runway 14 and departed (taxiway F never went that far west before). As I started to rotate, I realized my mistake. My choice at that point was to cut power and brake hard or continue takeoff. My decision was to continue takeoff, turn slight left and align with runway 14. Before my return to ilg, I looked at my terminal procedures, volume 3 of 4, effective feb/thu/02, page 316, ilg airport diagram and saw how it had been changed. The book I was using at the time of departure was my flight guide which did not show any of the changes. Corrective action: I will look at the terminal procedures, if published, and if not, ask for progressive taxi.

Title: UNAUTH TXWY TKOF BY A PVT GA PLT AT ILG, DE.

Narrative: I WAS INSTRUCTED BY GND CTL TO TAXI TO RWY 14 AT TXWY F3. AS I WAS TAXIING W ON TXWY G, THE GND CTLR TOLD ME TO HOLD SHORT OF TXWY J TO ALLOW A G4 TO TAXI TO RWY 9. AS THE JET WENT BY, I DID MY RUN-UP AND SWITCHED TO THE TWR. THE TWR TOLD ME I WAS CLRED FOR A RWY 14 DEP AT TXWY F3. DUE TO ALL THE CONSTRUCTION AND NEW BLACKTOPPED TXWY F, I THOUGHT I WAS ON RWY 14 AND DEPARTED (TXWY F NEVER WENT THAT FAR W BEFORE). AS I STARTED TO ROTATE, I REALIZED MY MISTAKE. MY CHOICE AT THAT POINT WAS TO CUT PWR AND BRAKE HARD OR CONTINUE TKOF. MY DECISION WAS TO CONTINUE TKOF, TURN SLIGHT L AND ALIGN WITH RWY 14. BEFORE MY RETURN TO ILG, I LOOKED AT MY TERMINAL PROCS, VOLUME 3 OF 4, EFFECTIVE FEB/THU/02, PAGE 316, ILG ARPT DIAGRAM AND SAW HOW IT HAD BEEN CHANGED. THE BOOK I WAS USING AT THE TIME OF DEP WAS MY FLT GUIDE WHICH DID NOT SHOW ANY OF THE CHANGES. CORRECTIVE ACTION: I WILL LOOK AT THE TERMINAL PROCS, IF PUBLISHED, AND IF NOT, ASK FOR PROGRESSIVE TAXI.
