Narrative:

MEL compliance. After gate departure, right high pressure pneumatic bleed valve would not open. Tried to troubleshoot while returning to the gate. Maintenance could not fix and placarded right high pressure shutoff valve inoperative per MEL xx-XXX. After they left, we called them back to placard additional item related to that MEL item. There was an additional MEL provision all involved overlooked. Found out about said item en route to lax. Had the hydraulic driven generator placarded in lax. Hydraulic driven generator not required on domestic operation, however, it did not comply to the letter of MEL.
