Narrative:

During descent for approach, upon initial contact with mia approach we were advised to expect a visual approach to runway 9L. First officer was flying aircraft manually. On dogleg to final, approach inquired if air carrier X abcd had a visual on the runway. First officer stated he had visual and that was relayed to approach control, who then issued clearance for a visual approach to runway 9L. First officer continued to align aircraft with runway as captain continued to accomplish before landing checklist. Captain was distraction by not being able to tune and identify ILS for runway 9L. During turn to final approach, approach control send air carrier X abcd to tower frequency. When air carrier X abcd checked on frequency, tower asked 'what runway do you intend on landing? It appears you are lined up for runway 9R.' air carrier X abcd requested landing clearance for runway 9R and was cleared to land on runway 9R. No conflict with other aircraft ever occurred. Air carrier X abcd landed on runway 9R with no further incident. Supplemental information from acn 537421: after clearing by mia approach for a visual approach to runway 9L, first officer aligned the aircraft to runway 9R. Mia tower then authority/authorized clearance to runway 9R and cleared us to land runway 9R. No further incident occurred.
