Narrative:

On final approach to runway 30 at about 800 ft we received a TCASII RA from pop-up helicopter traffic. A climb was initiated followed by a go around. The TCASII indicated 200 ft of vertical separation. Passenger on the right side of our aircraft later reported that the helicopter passed under our right wing. There appeared to be a communication breakdown of some kind between the tower and the lifeguard helicopter. We were not informed of his presence until the RA was initiated. Supplemental information from acn 534809: received a TCASII RA due to helicopter traffic crossing the final approach course. A climb was initiated to comply with the RA and a go around immediately followed. The TCASII indicated 200 ft separation. A normal approach and landing to runway 27R followed. The control tower had told the helicopter of our presence on the localizer runway 30 final. We were not aware of the close proximity until we received the RA.
