Narrative:

The incident happened after landing on runway 6R in anc. We were told to run off taxiway echo hold short of runway 6L. The copilot read back the instructions. Approaching runway 6L on taxiway echo at normal taxi speed the aircraft skidded considerably as the brakes were applied. We were encroaching onto runway 6L. I observed the plane approaching runway 6L to be at a safe dist on final so I elected to immediately cross runway 6L. At the same time I commanded the copilot to advise the tower of our actions. Upon hearing our call the tower sent the aircraft on runway 6L final approach around. We were well across runway 6L when the plane on final to runway 6L initiated its go around. The WX at anc was better than VFR, light winds with hard pack snow on most airport sfcs. This incident happened at the end of a 13 hour duty day. The human factors as I see that were involved were: complacency, fatigue and distraction.
