Narrative:
En route from XXX airport to YYY airport, I had to go past 2 nuclear power plants. I visually checked my distance and thought I was 10 miles away out of the class C airspace at ZZZ. When I landed I was told to call ZZZ tower. I was told I was 5 to 7 miles away from the plants. In the future I will get flight following from ZZZ. I assumed I could tell the distance to the plants, but was off.

Narrative: ENRTE FROM XXX ARPT TO YYY ARPT, I HAD TO GO PAST 2 NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS. I VISUALLY CHECKED MY DISTANCE AND THOUGHT I WAS 10 MILES AWAY OUT OF THE CLASS C AIRSPACE AT ZZZ. WHEN I LANDED I WAS TOLD TO CALL ZZZ TOWER. I WAS TOLD I WAS 5 TO 7 MILES AWAY FROM THE PLANTS. IN THE FUTURE I WILL GET FLT FOLLOWING FROM ZZZ. I ASSUMED I COULD TELL THE DISTANCE TO THE PLANTS, BUT WAS OFF.
