Narrative:

The captain called requestin my presence in cocpit. He then notified me that he and first officer had become aware of a hydraulic problem requiring a diversion to mem rather than original houston destination. The captain advised that we anticipated a normal landing (not anticipating a need to evacuate), but did ask me to prepare cabin for landing which I did after informing flight attendant #2. We had a smooth landing. I am not aware of specific causes for the hydraulic problem, although hydraulic fluid was leaking on the runway when we landed and fire trucks were available, although no fire occurred. Five hours later, after the first officer and captain took a quick flight on an air carrier flight to ZZZ and returned with a fokker for us to fly to houston, we resumed the flight with aprox 2/3 of our passenger load. (A convention was occurring in YYY and no other planes were available!) the original plan was determined inoperative by mechanic.

Narrative: THE CAPT CALLED REQUESTIN MY PRESENCE IN COCPIT. HE THEN NOTIFIED ME THAT HE AND FO HAD BECOME AWARE OF A HYD PROBLEM REQUIRING A DIVERSION TO MEM RATHER THAN ORIGINAL HOUSTON DESTINATION. THE CAPT ADVISED THAT WE ANTICIPATED A NORMAL LNDG (NOT ANTICIPATING A NEED TO EVACUATE), BUT DID ASK ME TO PREPARE CABIN FOR LANDING WHICH I DID AFTER INFORMING FLT ATTENDANT #2. WE HAD A SMOOTH LNDG. I AM NOT AWARE OF SPECIFIC CAUSES FOR THE HYD PROB, ALTHOUGH HYD FLUID WAS LEAKING ON THE RWY WHEN WE LANDED AND FIRE TRUCKS WERE AVAILABLE, ALTHOUGH NO FIRE OCCURRED. FIVE HOURS LATER, AFTER THE FO AND CAPT TOOK A QUICK FLT ON AN ACR FLT TO ZZZ AND RETURNED WITH A FOKKER FOR US TO FLY TO HOUSTON, WE RESUMED THE FLT WITH APROX 2/3 OF OUR PAX LOAD. (A CONVENTION WAS OCCURRING IN YYY AND NO OTHER PLANES WERE AVAILABLE!) THE ORIGINAL PLAN WAS DETERMINED INOP BY MECH.
