Narrative:

Descending on the MOD2 STAR into sfo, we were given direct archie FMS routing, descend and maintain 7000 ft. I was PNF and read clearance back as this. I was giving an IOE to a transitioning captain and I told him that is an unusual altitude for being 14 DME to the east of archie. Descending out of 10400 ft ATC told us to maintain 11000 ft. We reached 10300 ft prior to climbing back to 11000 ft. No traffic separation was lost and ATC did not say anything else about this. This was the last leg of a 5 leg IOE for a transitioning captain. I was in the first officer seat and PNF.
