Narrative:

Flight release had no MEL's or cdl's. ATC gave us a rerte that was different than our original flight plan and we had to reprogram the GPS. Verifying the new clearance with dispatch and reprogramming the GPS took extra time and attention during preflight. Somehow, the logbook was removed and missed in our final preflight. To prevent a recurrence, I suggest a specific holder in the cockpit for the logbook, because our aircraft has no specific location for the logbook.

Title: MLG ACR FLT CREW DEPART WITHOUT LOGBOOK.

Narrative: FLT RELEASE HAD NO MEL'S OR CDL'S. ATC GAVE US A RERTE THAT WAS DIFFERENT THAN OUR ORIGINAL FLT PLAN AND WE HAD TO REPROGRAM THE GPS. VERIFYING THE NEW CLRNC WITH DISPATCH AND REPROGRAMMING THE GPS TOOK EXTRA TIME AND ATTN DURING PREFLT. SOMEHOW, THE LOGBOOK WAS REMOVED AND MISSED IN OUR FINAL PREFLT. TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE, I SUGGEST A SPECIFIC HOLDER IN THE COCKPIT FOR THE LOGBOOK, BECAUSE OUR ACFT HAS NO SPECIFIC LOCATION FOR THE LOGBOOK.
