Narrative:

In MVFR (visibility estimated to be 3 mi at 3500 ft). Nenana airport AWOS reporting visibility 2 mi at the surface. I contacted zan for flight following and a special clearance through nenana class east airspace. Zan replied I needed no such clearance, and on their advice entered the airspace at nenana then after a few mins, zan handed me off to fai approach.

I CONTACTED ZAN FOR FLT FOLLOWING AND A SPECIAL CLRNC THROUGH NENANA CLASS E AIRSPACE. ZAN REPLIED I NEEDED NO SUCH CLRNC, AND ON THEIR ADVICE ENTERED THE AIRSPACE AT NENANA THEN AFTER A FEW MINS, ZAN HANDED ME OFF TO FAI APCH.
