Narrative:

On apr/tue/03, I was assigned to do a ps/0912 on MD80 aircraft. After checking tire pressures, I recorded pressures in appropriate blocks on the ps/0912 paperwork. The practice at ZZZ has always been not to deflate air from tires and this is why I did not take corrective action. It's just been explained to me that there was a 'maintenance alert' changing this practice. I was not aware of this and no one brought it to my attention. However, I will make sure that I am in complete compliance with the new provisions in the future.
