Narrative:

We took off from dal using runway 13L on our way to atl. Due to traffic, we remained on initial runway heading before being assigned a heading of 040 degree heading to intercept the TTT 084 degree radial, fpr. Our flight plan waypoint list had us going TTT-mei. The first officer and I verified each waypoint in the FMS and compared the distances which matched our computer flight plan. Once we were passing over uim VOR, center asked if we had been given direct mei. I said we were headed direct mei based on our fpr. Center told us to turn 30 degrees left and complete the dallas 6 departure. Once we turned left, we were given direct mei.
