ATC approach control told us to expect runway 5R. Then they changed their mind and assigned us runway 5L, on the condition that we had a visual on a B737 at 2 O'clock position, which we did. Approach did not advise us about an air carrier X B737 on long final for runway 5L, and then told us to turn to 050 degrees to parallel, which we then did.
