Narrative:

Dtw ground control, crossing runway 22L. We landed on runway 22R, taxied to hold short of runway 22L on taxiway V. We were changed to a ground control frequency to cross runway 22L. This is unsafe since we cannot hear the aircraft on the tower frequency that was taking off on runway 22L. As we talk about all the time we need layers of protection and now in dtw one layer has been removed for no apparent good reason. This is unsafe.
