Narrative:

Location: ramp. Flight abcd on pushback from gate contacted air carrier Y MD80 on gate xx. First officer called for pushback from gate Y. Apron control advised air carrier Y that we were cleared to push into lane 3 reference an air carrier Z. Air carrier X gate Y contacted apron control and requested pushback. We were cleared to push into lane 3 reference an rj in lane 4. Ground crew was given the instructions and commenced pushback. During push we inquired if we were cleared to start at this time we noted one of our wing walkers became agitated and kept looking at our tail section. We inquired with tug operator if all was ok. He said yes. Apron control then inquired 'if we that we had not. Immediately following this, the tug driver indicated he had indeed hit the air carrier Y jet and knocked off his static wick. We informed apron of this and coordinated with operations for a gate. The horizontal stabilizers were the site of contact. Our left stabilizer had several marks on it as noted once we parked, disembarked our 12 passenger, and inspected the aircraft.

Narrative: LOCATION: RAMP. FLT ABCD ON PUSHBACK FROM GATE CONTACTED ACR Y MD80 ON GATE XX. FO CALLED FOR PUSHBACK FROM GATE Y. APRON CTL ADVISED ACR Y THAT WE WERE CLRED TO PUSH INTO LANE 3 REF AN ACR Z. ACR X GATE Y CONTACTED APRON CTL AND REQUESTED PUSHBACK. WE WERE CLRED TO PUSH INTO LANE 3 REF AN RJ IN LANE 4. GND CREW WAS GIVEN THE INSTRUCTIONS AND COMMENCED PUSHBACK. DURING PUSH WE INQUIRED IF WE WERE CLRED TO START AT THIS TIME WE NOTED ONE OF OUR WING WALKERS BECAME AGITATED AND KEPT LOOKING AT OUR TAIL SECTION. WE INQUIRED WITH TUG OPERATOR IF ALL WAS OK. HE SAID YES. APRON CTL THEN INQUIRED 'IF WE THAT WE HAD NOT. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THIS, THE TUG DRIVER INDICATED HE HAD INDEED HIT THE ACR Y JET AND KNOCKED OFF HIS STATIC WICK. WE INFORMED APRON OF THIS AND COORDINATED WITH OPS FOR A GATE. THE HORIZ STABILIZERS WERE THE SITE OF CONTACT. OUR L STABILIZER HAD SEVERAL MARKS ON IT AS NOTED ONCE WE PARKED, DISEMBARKED OUR 12 PAX, AND INSPECTED THE ACFT.
