Contacted ground metering on 120.35 and was told we were to have contacted ground metering prior to pushback. The crew did not know that the ATIS requirement to call ground metering prior to push onto taxiway C10 applied to the ramp area behind gate a. Page 10-8 shows area controled by air carrier ramp.
