Narrative:

Instructed by milan ground to taxi via link 7 to runway 35L. While looking for link 7 information, we missed taxiway C, required for link 7. Instructed by ground to take taxiway C to runway 35L. Crew assumed next left was taxiway C (not marked off of taxiway M). Instead, it was taxiway B. Captain did not recognize it as taxiway B, and it feeds directly onto runway 35L. Captain inadvertently taxied onto active runway 35L. We immediately notified ground. There was no other ground or airborne traffic, and no impact to mxp operations. Ground told us to continue to back taxi on runway 35L. During taxi and takeoff, no other problems. There are no red stop bars or other lights indicating active runway off of taxiway B.
