Narrative:

After an overnight crossing of the atlantic, we were about to begin our approach into charles de gaulle airport in paris. As we passed through the transition level, we set the altimeters to 1011 millibars. When we ran the approach checklist a few seconds after leveling off at 4000 ft MSL, we realized the correct altimeter setting was 1001 millibars. We reset the altimeters and corrected our altitude. There was no conflict with any aircraft.
