Narrative:

Taxied the left main landing gear off the pavement at the intersection of 2 txwys. This happened after landing on and clearing runway 36R clt. The txwys involved were taxiway right and taxiway C. This turn involves almost a complete reversal of course. Txwys need to be enlarged at such locations. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter said that there was another aircraft on taxiway right from the opposite direction holding to follow. His position was observed to be quite close to taxiway C. The turn that was made was too tight resulting in the excursion. There are taxiway centerline markings but the reporter did not use them for guidance because of the other aircraft.
