Given vector towards dixon NDB in vicinity of orf. Heading seemed to be working, got distraction by other cockpit duties. Noticed DME read 31 mi and checked course to find aircraft west of course. Asked center for vector to hobee, instead received vector to caroline beach and ari. Flight continued normally. Distrs allowed to interfere with primary duties.
