Narrative:

Initial IFR clearance altitude was 6000 ft on the dalton departure from teb. Since this was above 1300 ft as stated on the departure we discussed that, that deleted the 1300 ft restr. Passing 800 ft the controller told us to level at 1300 ft. I queried him on the altitude and first officer, PF, started to bring the nose down. We overshot the altitude to 1800 ft and began to descend. The controller then said not to bother and we resumed the climb. Remainder of the flight was uneventful.

Title: CREW IN C560 DEP TEB GIVEN CLB TO 6000 FT THEN CHANGED TO 1300 FT THEN BACK TO 6000 FT.

Narrative: INITIAL IFR CLRNC ALT WAS 6000 FT ON THE DALTON DEP FROM TEB. SINCE THIS WAS ABOVE 1300 FT AS STATED ON THE DEP WE DISCUSSED THAT, THAT DELETED THE 1300 FT RESTR. PASSING 800 FT THE CTLR TOLD US TO LEVEL AT 1300 FT. I QUERIED HIM ON THE ALT AND FO, PF, STARTED TO BRING THE NOSE DOWN. WE OVERSHOT THE ALT TO 1800 FT AND BEGAN TO DSND. THE CTLR THEN SAID NOT TO BOTHER AND WE RESUMED THE CLB. REMAINDER OF THE FLT WAS UNEVENTFUL.
