Narrative:

Line check airman was on jump seat checking line check airman in right seat (PF) giving me a check. An embraer passing underneath us at 10000 ft told ATC that smoke was coming from our aircraft. When notified by ATC, we checked and noted no abnormalities and reported same to ATC. ATC decided to give us priority handling. Ran checklists, attempted to contact flight attendant to ensure readiness for landing, and requested smoke confirmation from trailing aircraft and tower, none noted. Continued approach and landing. No further problems. Taxied to gate. Situation was a little tense in that one sensed line check guys trying to run cockpit despite clear assurances in initial brief that I was in charge.
