Narrative:
On descent from FL240 to FL190 on lendy 4 arrival in vertical speed mode on MCP, went through altitude to 18500 ft immediate climb to FL190. No conflict with any traffic (none in the area on TCASII). I was PNF with head down inputting estimate on time to jfk operation in the ACARS. In future, keep head up when within 1000 ft of target altitude. Verify autoplt/PF executes appropriate actions.

Narrative: ON DSCNT FROM FL240 TO FL190 ON LENDY 4 ARR IN VERT SPD MODE ON MCP, WENT THROUGH ALT TO 18500 FT IMMEDIATE CLB TO FL190. NO CONFLICT WITH ANY TFC (NONE IN THE AREA ON TCASII). I WAS PNF WITH HEAD DOWN INPUTTING ESTIMATE ON TIME TO JFK OP IN THE ACARS. IN FUTURE, KEEP HEAD UP WHEN WITHIN 1000 FT OF TARGET ALT. VERIFY AUTOPLT/PF EXECUTES APPROPRIATE ACTIONS.
