Narrative:

Per our company policy, the captain, prior to passenger boarding, is to be briefed by gate agent that a law enforcement officer carrying a weapon is coming on board and is to be handed a card with the officer's name, agency, and seat location. Throughout the system, gate agents are letting law enforcement officers carry the notification paperwork on board and not briefing flight crew. This sets up a scenario in which the law enforcement officer does not deliver the card and a weapon comes on board without flight crew knowledge. Air carrier is continually advised of this, but has not solved problem. P.south. Happened again on later flight.

THROUGHOUT THE SYS, GATE AGENTS ARE LETTING LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS CARRY THE NOTIFICATION PAPERWORK ON BOARD AND NOT BRIEFING FLC.
