Narrative:

We were on a southerly vector from houston, instructed to intercept the 085 degree radial of scholes VOR. The captain put identify for scholes in FMC, showing 086 degrees for a direct intercept heading. The controller handed us off to new controller, who told us to turn right 30 degrees for traffic. Our aircraft was in a left turn at this time, pushed heading select to turn back to the right per his instructions. Controller then asked if we had turned left, told him of aircraft left bank and that we were now in a right turn. While in the right turn, got a TA then RA. Took autoplt off and started descent per RA, received clear of traffic message, climbed 250-300 ft back to assigned altitude of 15000 ft.
