Narrative:

Rsw has light poles situated very close to the ramp apron on the east side near gates xa-xb. They pose a hazard to the wings of aircraft taxiing near the edge of the ramp in daylight and especially at night. I suggest installation of light poles farther from the edge of the ramp. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: report says that poles previously installed can be hit by aircraft wing if they taxi within about 20-25 ft of the ramp edge. There were no ramp edge markings at his last visit to the airport. There are no lead-in lines to the gates that would prevent taxi in this area. Most aircraft maneuver on their own until approaching the gate where guidance is provided.
