Narrative:

Copilot was flying leg from ory to bos. We set up and briefed the ILS to runway 33 per the ATIS. On handoff from ZBW to approach, we were given a vector that lined us up perfectly to intercept the final approach course to the ILS to runway 33. Handed over to another approach frequency and given clearance to intercept the localizer. Worked on checklist and other normal duties. Approach informed us that we had gone through localizer and gave vector to intercept localizer to runway 27. This was the first time we heard a runway mentioned. We, of course, assumed we were going to runway 33. Approach may have said runway 27 earlier, but I do not recall. Intercepted localizer and landing at bos, no further problems.

Title: A B767 FLC FAILED TO INTERCEPT THE LOC ON APCH TO BOS.

Narrative: COPLT WAS FLYING LEG FROM ORY TO BOS. WE SET UP AND BRIEFED THE ILS TO RWY 33 PER THE ATIS. ON HDOF FROM ZBW TO APCH, WE WERE GIVEN A VECTOR THAT LINED US UP PERFECTLY TO INTERCEPT THE FINAL APCH COURSE TO THE ILS TO RWY 33. HANDED OVER TO ANOTHER APCH FREQ AND GIVEN CLRNC TO INTERCEPT THE LOC. WORKED ON CHKLIST AND OTHER NORMAL DUTIES. APCH INFORMED US THAT WE HAD GONE THROUGH LOC AND GAVE VECTOR TO INTERCEPT LOC TO RWY 27. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME WE HEARD A RWY MENTIONED. WE, OF COURSE, ASSUMED WE WERE GOING TO RWY 33. APCH MAY HAVE SAID RWY 27 EARLIER, BUT I DO NOT RECALL. INTERCEPTED LOC AND LNDG AT BOS, NO FURTHER PROBS.
