Narrative:

I took off from palomar airport (crq) in carlsbad, ca, en route with 2 passenger on a routine sightseeing flight. The aircraft I was flying was a travel air open cockpit biplane. I flew the usual 1 hour route down the coast around la jolla and the north end of mission bay in san diego. On the return up the coast, I flew through the west edge of the temporary flight restr zone located at mzb VOR 334 degree radial, 4.9 NM, 1500 ft AGL, 1 1/2 NM. I was totally unaware of the temporary restr area which was in place for only 3 hours. There was nothing on the crq ATIS about this restr, even though it was only 16 mi to the south in the middle of a well traveled route. It was indicated on the NOTAMS with flight service, but since this was a local sightseeing flight, I didn't check with san FSS. I was advised to call approach when I landed by telephone and was then advised of what I did. I have advised my employer and the other pilots of the situation and recommended checking morning NOTAMS each day from san.
