Narrative:

On departure from phl we were held at 10000 ft proceeding to mxe and then out the mxe 278 degree radial. The autoplt was engaged and we had just crossed mxe when the TCASII alerted an RA and instructed us to climb. As I grabbed the yoke and pulled back I saw briefly a -400 symbol in red indicated on the TCASII display. I stopped the climb at 10800 ft and then eased the aircraft up to 11000 ft as the captain told ZNY about the TCASII RA and our deviation from assigned altitude.
