Narrative:

I was not much involved in this situation, but here are the details as best as I recall. I was flight attendant #1 on a B757. During boarding, I was setting up the first class galley. About 5 mins before departure, flight attendant #2 called from the aft galley and said, 'there's a guy back here about to have a cow, because I won't serve him a drink. I can smell alcohol on him. And I don't think I want to go on a 3 hour flight with him if he can't wait till after takeoff for a drink.' I relayed the message to the captain in the cockpit, who called for attendant #2. As they talked, I stepped back into the galley and continued setting up. About 1 min later, the captain stepped into the entry area and said to one of the flight attendants, 'tell him to come up here and talk to me. I don't want to go back there -- it might embarrass him.' a few mins later, a man stepped into the galley looking for the captain. I pointed out the captain who was standing on the jetbridge. They began talking, but I did not hear what they were saying. Every now and then, they raised their voices, but I still could not understand what they were saying. During this time, the gate agent stepped on the plane and said, 'I remember that guy. He gave me a hard time when I checked him in, but I was too busy to do anything about it.' eventually, a man in a suit and 2 policemen showed up and began talking with the passenger. The captain stepped back on the plane and we departed.
