Narrative:

Routine diversion -- about 45 mins after takeoff, we were informed that there was a problem with an engine valve and we might land in bos or jfk, then soon told we were indeed going to jfk. Since coach was light (about 50) and their meals were already cooking, those meals were served. First class/business class had accomplished only beverage service so we picked up those cabins and secured the airplane for landing, with ovens heating entrees to serve on the ground. On landing, we learned we'd be changing planes, so we quickly fed our first class/business class passenger, deplaned, waited briefly for our new plane to be made ready, then boarded for a routine -- if quiet -- flight, 3 hours late.
